the first time you have sex is always special

Many people imagine their first time to be special and magical. Being sexual with another person is an expression of closeness and intimacy. Deciding whether and when to have sexual intercourse, or any other kind of sexual activity, like touching or oral sex, requires a lot of thought from you and your partner.

Also, many people are worried that it will hurt the first time they have sex. It can hurt and some girls do bleed a little. This is because the girl has a hymen, which is a piece of thick skin which goes across the opening of the vagina. This can break the first time she has sex.

Sometimes, a girl can break her hymen and not realise. This can happen doing things like sports or horse riding.
