I thought she asked for it

We met at a party. She was a friend of a friend. She looked awesome - mini dress and heels. Dancing all sexy and giving me the eyes.
I went up to her and we started dancing together. She was being flirty and things were getting hot. I got her a few drinks.
She started to get a bit unsteady on her feet so we went out the front of the house. I offered her a lift home. When she said yes, I knew it was going to happen.
I drove to the beach and started kissing her. She acted a little surprised. When I started touching her she started pulling away. But I still thought she wanted it to happen.
We ended up having sex. She was quiet on the drive home but I didn't think too much of it. We didn't exchange numbers.
Afterwards I was thinking about the way she behaved and thought it was kinda strange. Why didn't she ask to see me again? I thought we had a fun time.
I was feeling really worried so I talked to the school nurse. The nurse explained that having sex with someone without their consent is sexual assault and is a crime.
The nurse also said that a girl doesn't ask for sex by dressing or acting in a certain way. Being under the influence of alcohol or other drugs can cloud your judgement and make it harder to say 'no'.
Looking back, I should have asked her if she wanted to do anything sexual before she got into my car. Then we would both would have been clear about what was going to happen between us. Sex is not about getting what you want - it should be enjoyable and what both partners want.
